Designer Demolition Derby

Sunday! Sunday! Sunday!

Real Art Design Group employees think up thousands of ridiculous ideas like this every year. But every once in a while, they follow through on one.

I’m proud to announce that Real Art is now an official contender in the “Cavalcade of Thrills” Demolition Derby at the 2008 Montgomery County Fair!

The demolition car, a 1993 Nissan Altima formerly owned by RADG employee Andy Nick, is sponsored in part by the Dayton Creative Syndicate. The car will proudly feature a decal with the DCS logomark.

It will be driven/destroyed by the Syndicate’s very insane brave Director, Rob Anspach. So make sure you come out on Sunday, grab some deep-fried, cotton-candied chili dogs and show your support for Rob, Real Art and the Syndicate.

Details:

  • Montgomery County Fairgrounds (remember that the Stewart St. bridge is closed) - map
  • Sunday, August 31
  • 7:00pm
  • Admission is probably $5-7 (we couldn’t find any info on the website), but trust me you can’t put a price on something like this!
  • Check back often because we may get more details as we get closer to the big show

Check out this slideshow that chronicles the preparation process for the car…

Also, check out these preview videos of RADG employees and friends prepping the car…

Welcome to the DCS blog.

So we were thinking… this club is basically a small community of people. Very web-savvy people. People who are curious about what the hell we’re doing up in that dark, gloomy tower overlooking Dead Man’s Bluff (our HQ). And rightfully so.

Hmmm… so how could we possibly keep everyone updated, stay on the cutting edge with the latest Interwebs trends, AND avoid doing any difficult work to set it up? Gosh, I don’t know… Oh, wait! Wordpress!

Now our site will stay updated with all the latest on our events, membership news, projects, and anything else that might be of interest to a young professional living in or around Dayton. Hoozah!

To start, our executive board will serve as the authors of the blog. They’re pretty aware of what’s going on with the club. But we’re also going to bring in guest authors to school you in their areas of expertise.

So what do you need to do?

  1. Subscribe to this blog with your favorite RSS reader. I recommend Google Reader.
  2. Read our posts regularly.
  3. Register so you can comment on our posts. This is a quick, painless process. Edit: You may comment without registering.
  4. Comment on our posts. This is how your voice gets heard, so comment often. We really do want to hear what you have to say.
  5. Explore the rest of the site. This isn’t just a blog; this is our website. Click the page links to learn more about us, become a member of the club, etc.

This is a bit of a work in progress. We’ll get it all branded and pretty in no time, but until then you can enjoy quality content.
