If you came downtown to Urban Nights last week, and took even a few minutes to look around courthouse square, you will have seen the DCS workin' hard to make the Main Street Chalk Walk a huge success. Hundreds of people from all over the city came to take part in the event, and by the end of the night an entire one block section of the street was covered in chalk art of all sizes and kinds.
By now the rain and traffic will have washed away all of the evidence that we were even there, but we did get a lot of great photos of the event.
DATV also made a video of us in action (produced by DCS member, Dan Suffoletto).
If you were a part of the event or drew some art on the street, why not leave a comment below so that we can see what it was. Thanks, Dayton, for the great time! Hope to see you again in the Spring. :)
If you've been around Dayton at all in the last few weeks (we thought we pulled everyone out from under their rocks) then you probably already know that Urban Nights is coming up this Friday! And while we are definitely pumped for all of the activities that will be going on that night, we are even more excited about the part we get to play in it.
This year DCS will be hosting a project that is under everyone's feet... literally. The Chalk Walk is an opportunity for all Urban Nights goers to share their talents, their ideas, their pieces of art and their doodles for all of the city to see. But of course, we'll need your help!
Get Involved
Whether you want to gather your friends and come on down just to hang out with us, or grab a piece of chalk to pass out to the people walking by, we want you to be a part of this. There is a lot to be done, and with everything else going on downtown we think this is going to be a huge success. Not just to promote DCS as an awesome part of the Dayton society, but to promote and enrich the experience as a whole. Are you up for that?
