So you’re all like, “Well I’d like to put my work online, but I don’t wanna have to learn all that HTML crap.” So you forsake the interwebs and invest your life savings in a billboard to display your resume, salary requirements and list of references. Many years later, you die alone and penniless.

The truth is, there are enough resources online right now that don’t require any HTML knowledge whatsoever that your grandmother could create an online portfolio of all her knitted Dachshund sweaters without missing Matlock. So what’s the hold up? Put the kibosh on that outdoor media buy and start clicking links!

One great, free solution is Coroflot. Think of it as half LinkedIn, two quarters Facebook, and 3 parts Flickr. Here are some things you can do with it:

  1. Upload images of all your work and organize them into categories like “Print” or “Awesome”
  2. Post your resume in a digital, search-able format
  3. Advertise whether or not you’re actively seeking work
  4. Be contacted by people who want to hire you
  5. Join groups on Coroflot like the Dayton Creative Syndicate to show off your work, join discussions, and network with people

Coroflot isn’t the only solution out there (more on that later!) but it’s a really great one. Once you create your profile, make sure you join the DCS Coroflot group.
